ALICE

ALICE

PROCESS

Based on ALICE by SONJA FERDINAND
DIRECTED by SOPHIE GRODIN
DRAMATURGY by SOPHIE GRODIN & ANNE ELMHOLT
PERFORMED by ANNA BJØRGULF, MAX LEVIN-KUGLER & LAURA SPOTTAG FOG
SCENOGRAPHY & LIGHTING DESIGN by ANNE ELMHOLT
ARTISTIC ADVICE from RUNAR HODNE & SERGE VON ARX
What if we said that I couldn't recognize my memories?
What if we said that I wasn't, who I thought I was?
and what if I asked: who am I then?
What if we said that I didn't know what to do, now that the person closest to me isn't here anymore?
What if the text I've written, to tell you about what occurred, is all that's left in the end?
In this performance, three performers, Anna, Max, and Laura, move through the text Alice, written by Sonja Ferdinand, each with their own agenda and ideas on how to best stage the play. Throughout the performance, they can choose to change character or begin, repeat or skip scenes if they feel it benefits the themes and questions of the play. This quiet, constant negotiation and investigation on stage explores the themes of memory, identity, grief, and loss.
What if we said I was someone else than who I am in this very moment - just for a moment - what happens to the moment we are in? What happens to Alice and what happens to us?
First performed at DASPA, COPENHAGEN, FEBRUARY 21 to FEBRUARY 23 2022 / Cancelled: Covid19
