Anne Elmholt (b. 1993) is a danish performance maker and scenographer.
The work strives to address the situation we find ourselves in today - social and political - through alternative dramaturgical structures and spaces. Broadly, it might be considered
as post-dramatic theatre and fuses aspects of post-modern
design/performance with an ability to
convey emotionally resonant insights into the human condition. Meaning is often displaced and as a result, the audience is challenged and encouraged to not just consider their relationship with the work but also the world they inhabit.
Elmholt is exploring different devising methods and staging strategies, involving other fields i.e. science, sociology, anthropology etc. in the process of performance writing as well as developing strategies and structures that further involves the audience as an
active part of the creation process, aiming to create a stronger dialogue between performance art/space, spectators and current issues in society.
